Senior home games at Boss James Reserve are a great experience with the Rovers playing in front of some of the biggest crowds in the VAFA. The action commences off at 11:40am with the Reserves. The famous Hampton Rovers Luncheon commences shortly after in the large social rooms which overlook the ground. Enjoy a great feed and drinks from the Bar while listening to a guest speaker. By the time the main game kicks off at 2pm, cars surround the embankment while a large crowd settles in front of the social rooms to cheer on the mighty Rovers. After the game, the social rooms are filled to capacity with the Bar serving your favourite beer, wine & spirits including Carlton Draught on tap. Match awards shortly follow and the Bar remains open until late. Make sure you get down to Boss James Reserve for all the action!

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside,
Oh we do like to be beside the sea,
Down at Hampton there's a football team,
The boys all wear the Gold and the Green,
So lets give a cheer for Hampton Rovers,
For this years Premiers we will be,
Though it's not quite in the bag,
We've got our eyes upon the flag,
Beside the seaside, beside the sea.

The traditional Hampton Rovers Amateur Football Club jumper is Green on the lower half and gold yoke on the upper.

The Hampton Rovers have adopted a 'one-club' structure whereby the Seniors & Juniors are in fact a single club. There are two committees: Senior Committee who are responsible for the senior side of the club and a Junior Committee who are responsible for the junior side (U9-U17). Above the two committees is a Board of Management who deal with top-level issues and ensure both committees work together.

Hampton Rovers AFC have some of the best facilities in the VAFA. Boss James Reserve underwent a major redevelopment prior to the 2002 season, this included tripling the size of the social rooms, a new gym connected to the home rooms, new male and female toilets, and improved away rooms. Other facilities at the Rovers include a fully licensed bar, canteen, large home rooms, and more. The Boss James Reserve itself is a large ground with a grass embankment surrounding it. Four new 30m light towers were installed in 2016 allowing for night matches while a new LED scoreboard will be installed for 2017. There are also two sealed car parks while you can also park on the hill around the ground. Facilities were further upgraded over the 2014 off-season and there are big plans for the future.

The Hampton Rovers are a true Bayside community club. As well as getting involved in the local community, the club also supports a number of charities. Since 2007, the Rovers have regularly held annual functions raising funds for charities including beyondblue and Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Each year, the club also supports The Salvation Army with players collecting donations.

Hampton Rovers were the first VAFA, and one of the first non-AFL clubs, to have a club website. The site began in 1998. The site has been improved each year and continues to set the benchmark. In 2000 it received the most visitors to an non-AFL club website. Since then traffic has increased year after year. The site continues to lead the way and is a benchmark for other clubs to follow. The club is also strong in all forms of social media.

The club has had numerous AFL/VFL players over the years. St Kilda champion Ross Smith is arguably Hampton Rovers most well known player, winning the Brownlow medal in 1967 as well as captaining the club and Victoria. [Click Here]

The Rovers host the popular Auskick program where 7 & 8 year-olds can learn the basics of Australian Rules Football. In 2013 there were about 130 participants. Playing at the Rovers means kids can go on to Under 9's and develop their skills through the junior ranks and right through to playing senior football. In 2014, the club established a partnership with VFL club Sandringham Zebras.
